Automation: Gmail, Docs, Sheets and ClickUp API


The client needed to work with data from a file sent every 15 minutes by email from a software program on their local machine. The contents in that file needed to update tasks in ClickUp (the project management service they were using).


The client had worked with a previous developer who struggled to make this automation become a reality due to the contents of the file.


We finished the build of a recurring automation to take the new data file every 15 minutes from the email from the software program, add it to a Google Sheet as a database, and call the ClickUp API to update fields and comments on the pertaining tasks.


The client had an automation that took the data from a rigid software program and created a live set of tasks in ClickUp that were updated when changes in the software were made.
