Privacy Policy

Thank you for choosing Tickle Mailer (the “Add-On”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, process, and disclose your information when you use Tickle Mailer in conjunction with Gmail or related services.

1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of Tickle Mailer, which is offered through the Google Workspace Marketplace. By installing or using Tickle Mailer, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall or discontinue using the Add-On.

2. Information We Collect

2.1. Google User Data

  • Tickle Mailer may request access to your Gmail account (or portions of it) to enable functionality such as:
  • Reading, sending, or scheduling emails on your behalf.
  • Managing email labels and drafts.
  • Accessing contact information for composing or scheduling messages.

2.2. Usage Analytics

  • Any usage data or analytics (e.g., number of installations, uninstalls) are provided via the Google Workspace Marketplace’s reporting. These reports do not include personal data about your emails, contacts, or other content.

2.3. Personal Information

  • Tickle Mailer stores your email address to manage feature access between Free and Pro user tiers. This email address is used solely for internal tracking purposes and is not shared or used for marketing.
  • We may also temporarily retrieve other personal information (e.g., names, Gmail addresses) from your account as needed to send or schedule messages, but this additional information is not retained beyond what is necessary to complete the requested action.

3. Google API Scopes

To provide the full range of features and functionality, Tickle Mailer requests the following
Google API scopes upon installation or first use:

These scopes are displayed to you during the installation process and are necessary for Tickle Mailer to perform its core functions (e.g., sending Gmail messages, reading contact information,
interacting with Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, and Drive files when necessary).

4. How We Use Your Information

4.1. Gmail Content

  • We access Gmail content (e.g., email messages, recipients, subject lines) only when required to perform Tickle Mailer’s core functions (e.g., composing or scheduling emails).
  • We do not share, sell, or otherwise distribute this content to external parties

4.2. Aggregated Usage Data

  • We may review high-level usage trends (e.g., number of active users) through Google Workspace Marketplace’s built-in analytics tools to improve product performance and user experience. No Gmail content or personally identifiable information is included in these analytics.

4.3. Communication

We will only use your information (e.g., email address) for:
  • Managing your access to Free or Pro features
  • Essential communications about your use of Tickle Mailer
  • A Welcome email for onboarding related to the add-on

5. Data Storage and Security

5.1. Storage on Google Servers

  • Tickle Mailer is built on Google Apps Script, which runs on Google’s servers. Any temporary data or files are processed via Google’s infrastructure. We do not maintain external servers or databases that permanently store your data.

5.2. Security Measures

  • We use industry-standard security measures (such as encryption in transit) to protect your information during transmission.
  • Access to any temporary data is strictly controlled and only authorized personnel with a legitimate business need can access it.

6. Third-Party Sharing and Disclosure

  • We do not share or sell your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
  • We will only disclose data to third parties if:
  • Required by Law: If mandated by law, subpoena, or court order.
  • Consent: If you explicitly consent to the sharing of your data.

7. User Control and Consent

  • You can revoke Tickle Mailer’s permissions at any time through your Google Account settings. Once revoked, the Add-On will lose access to your data and will not be able to perform any Gmail-related functions.
  • You may also uninstall Tickle Mailer at any time from the Google Workspace Marketplace or your Google account’s “Manage Apps” section.

8. Children’s Privacy

  • Tickle Mailer is not intended for individuals under the age of 13 (or another age as required by local law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International Data Transfers

  • If you are accessing Tickle Mailer from outside of the country where Google’s servers are located, your information may be transferred across international borders. We comply with applicable data protection regulations for such transfers.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

  • We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be posted or otherwise communicated in accordance with legal requirements.
